Rules and Regulations

Scoring Methodology

  • Select the race you wish to make selections for
  • The deadline is the time qualifying starts for each race
  • In order to play, you must be signed up through the site
  • We are not responsible if you forget to make your picks

  • Picks
    • Choose 4 drivers for each race (each driver can be used 4 times)
    • Chose 1 constructor for each race (each team can be used 2 times)
  • Ways to Score Points
    • Race Scoring
      • Each Driver selected will receive the same points they receive from the race per FOM standards plus one point for finishing (if they finish)
      • Any driver finishing outside of the top 10 that finishes the race will receive one point
      • Team selections will receive the total points of their drivers
    • Qualifying Scoring
      • Making it to Q2, each driver and team selected will receive 1 point per driver
      • Making it to Q3, each driver and team will receive 2 points
      • Pole Position receives 5 points
    • Variance Scoring (Starting position to finishing position)
      • Each driver/team will receive one point per place they improve from their starting position on the grid (not qualifying) to where they finish the race (i.e. if your driver starts 15th and finishes 8th, that driver will receive 7 points. If that driver finished 15th or lower, there is no penalty)
    • Fastest Lap Scoring
      • While this is being included in championship points for the 2019 season, this could be considered a double count, but the driver and that driver’s team who wins the fastest lap will receive an additional 5 points
    • Fastest Pit Stop Scoring
      • Your team pick each race can also score points if that particular team has the fastest pit stop of the race.  Fastest pit stop team receives 10 points (pre-multiplier!)
    • Multiplier Effect Scoring
      • All teams will be grouped into 3 Tiers and races grouped into 3 groups
        • Initially the Tiers will be based on the 2018 Season results
          • Tier 1 – Top 3 teams
          • Tier 2 – Middle 4 teams
          • Tier 3 – Bottom 3 teams
        • The Tiers will reset once during the 2020 season based on the race groupings
          • Reset occurs after the Italian Grand Prix
            • Tier 1 – Top 3 teams 2019 season results
            • Tier 2 – Middle 4 teams 2019 season results
            • Tier 3 – Bottom 3 teams 2019 season results
          • All groupings will be shown below
        • Tier 1 teams will receive their total points without any multiplier
        • Tier 2 teams will receive their total points with a 2x multiplier
        • Tier 3 teams will receive their total points with a 3x multiplier
      • DNF Scoring
        • Select the number of DNFs you think will occur during the race
        • If there are more DNFs than your pick, you will receive the number you picked.
        • If there are fewer DNFs, you will receive 0 points
        • This is not included in the multiplier
      • The DDJS Rule
        • If you fail to make picks for any race, you will no longer be stuck with 0 points for that race.  Instead, with the implementation of the DDJS rule, your prior race picks will carry forward as long as you have not run out of that particular pick.  This is the rule for the lazy and whiny….
